(Vancouver, BC)—Portobello West has changed their December market dates. The two day holiday market will now happen Saturday December 10 and Sunday December 11 at the Creekside Community Centre from 11am-5pm. It’s not a change the not-for-profit society relishes since it means hosting a market the same weekend as the One of a Kind show.
“We realize that the One of a Kind show hosts 300 vendors but by shopping at Portobello West you are supporting local artists and your local market,” says Market Manager Rosemary Marland Lennox. “Portobello West is your guide to supporting local this holiday season.”
With over 50 vendors selling everything from leather goods, perfume, clothing (Daub and Design pictured), skincare and jewellery; there is a one-of-a-kind, fashionable product for everyone on your list that has been nice this year.
To sweeten the shopping experience everybody that attends Portobello West in December will receive a Shop Local Passport. Every time you make a purchase your passport is stamped. If you collect four or more stamps you get entered into a draw to win a prize package handmade local goodness!
The Shop Local Passport is also a gift guide if making quick decisions isn’t your forte. All participating vendors contact information will be at your finger tips when you wake up the next morning wishing you did buy your sister that Pilar Rodriques’ fascinator.
There are plenty of holiday markets, many of which are locally organized, but there is only one Portobello West.
